The GIFT School is designed as an inclusive microschool serving students with diverse learning needs. Our model provides a smaller, supportive environment where students can learn alongside peers while receiving individualized instruction, accommodations, and support.
Our goal is to create a school community where every student has meaningful opportunities to learn, participate, build relationships, develop independence, and prepare for the future.
Children are natural learners who learn best through interactive, developmentally appropriate play.
Families are an important part of the GIFT School community. Communication and collaboration with families help the school understand each student’s strengths, interests, needs, and goals. The school and family can work together to support consistency, growth, independence, and meaningful progress.
Self-esteem and self-worth come from feeling successful with everyday tasks. For young children, this includes school. When they are accepted for who they are and encouraged to be who they are created to be, they will love learning and hunger for more.
The microschool model allows The GIFT School to respond to students rather than requiring every student to fit one predetermined approach. Teachers can adjust instruction, groupings, materials, schedules, and supports based on student needs and progress.
Students may participate in whole-group instruction, small-group learning, individualized work, enrichment activities, movement breaks, sensory activities, and hands-on experiences throughout the school day.
All therapists are welcome to provide services throughout the day to increase our students’ potential to meet developmental goals
